anonymous asked: Hi! My name is Kat, and I’m a huge fan of your blog (I check it almost daily!) I enjoy how you find great pieces at affordable prices, and then show how to work them into your wardrobe. I’ve actually bought several things after seeing them on your blog! I was wondering if you could help me find the perfect trench coat - for minimal $$. I’m looking for a lighter khaki color (not the typical camel color), double breasted and not a “rain-coat” material. Any ideas for where to look? Thanks!
Hey, my name is Kat too! I actually got a trench coat I absolutely LOVE at H&M a few months back (pictured here) for $49, so I would definitely check them out. In addition, here’s a Polyvore I made of a few trenches, ranging in price from $30 - $110:

criticalmess: I was wondering if you could give me any leads on a red trench coat under $100? Preferably longer than mid-thigh? I’ve been dying for a red coat for ages and it also fits in perfectly with my plan to go as Carmen Sandiego for Halloween this year!
Sure, here are my favorite options. Unfortunately, the selection for longer red trenches under $100 is slim, so I included above-the-knee options here as well:
Merona Water Repellent Long Trench, $49.99, Target
Vintage London Fog Trench Coat, $49, Etsy (Seller:Babybirdvintage)
Black Rivet Double Breasted Trench Coat, $41, Overstock
A Wear Trench Coat, $109, ASOS (okay, okay, this one is a little over $100, but it’s so pretty I had to include it)
I took a trip to Kohl’s today to try out some of LC’s spring collection in person. I wasn’t in love with any of the tops I found on the sale rack (sad, since they had 70% off a bunch of LC tops) or any of the dresses I tried on (they were just a tad too short on me) but I did fall in love with this trench. It was a nice thick material and fully lined, very flattering, and a fun bright spring color.
It was originally $84, I got it for $49 (on sale for $58, and then I got an additional 15% off for using my Kohl’s card). I can’t wait to wear it this spring!
